124th Street is a great place to locate, it's full of independent businesses who share a similar vision to ours. We couldn't have asked for better neighbours than d'Lish, The Dish and the Spoon, MUDD, Bosom Babies, Duchess Bake Shop and all the fabulous Galleries to name just a few. When an opportunity arises to do something together it seems we're all happy to help. One such opportunity arose last week and we're thrilled that we can help support the MoSistas and they raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer. The main part of the evening will be next door d'Lish while we combine the opening of Samantha Williams-Chaplesky's "Explore" show with the MoSistas' Silent Auction at the Gallery on the evening of Thursday, November 10th.
We've also bought 10 tickets for the Night of Artists Kids with Cancer Fundraiser evening on Friday November 18th. Many of our artists, including Rick and I, are members of Night of Artists and so it seems a natural thing for us to support their efforts. Watch for us on Breakfast TV, November 17th as we kick off the 15th anniversary celebrations.
Over 11 years ago my father passed away from lung cancer. There are few of us whose lives have not been impacted by this disease and I hope and pray that one day scientists will find a cure. In the meantime we are committed to being good neighbours and good citizens and thank all the neighbouring businesses for their support, friendship and encouragement.
