It seems that I am checking new paintings into the Gallery everyday and I'm wondering if the tailors next door might like to relocate - space is becoming an issue!
Why so much art you ask - it's not because I want to break some kind of record for number of paintings in 1200sq.ft. One of the comments I hear from people when they pop in is that they love the variety of styles and mediums we have on display, now we have an even greater variety! One of our goals when we chose new artists recently was to embrace and enhance our eclectic beginnings and so we have selected artists we think compliment our existing community. It's a challenge to hang, but I really enjoy putting interesting groupings together and trying something different with each display.
It's also the Fall Gallery Walk this weekend, our first and maybe most important. I'm interested to see which pieces people are most drawn too. I know I have my favourites, but I do love them all! It feels a bit like the Grand Opening all over again, I'm nervous and excited all at the same time. I also bought a new dress again for the occasion!
As exciting as it is to see our racks and walls full of beautiful new pieces I hope that some paintings find new homes this weekend. Our artists and our Gallery can only keep going with your support so I hope you'll find some time this weekend for a visit. Gallery Walk runs from 10 to 5m Saturday and 12 to 4pm Sunday. We'll have some special treats and Evan the Hat will be popping by to play some music, so it is sure to be a good weekend.
